Editorial Policy

Klosters.com aims to publish useful, accurate and independent travel information for visitors planning a trip to Klosters, Switzerland.

This Editorial Policy explains how we research content, the sources we prefer, how commercial relationships are handled and what we do when information changes or an error is identified.

Our editorial principles

Our content is guided by five principles:

Accuracy

We aim to verify factual claims before publication, particularly where information concerns named businesses, transport, mountain operations, activities, prices, opening periods or other details that can change.

Usefulness

We prioritise information that helps visitors make decisions.

That includes questions such as:

  • where should I stay?
  • Klosters Platz or Klosters Dorf?
  • Madrisa or Parsenn?
  • can I visit without a car?
  • what can families do?
  • what is worth doing in summer or winter?
  • how do I travel from Zürich?

We prefer practical answers to generic destination description.

Independence

Editorial coverage is not sold.

A business does not receive favourable editorial treatment simply because it advertises, participates in an affiliate programme or has another commercial relationship with Lively Media.

Transparency

Where content contains advertising, sponsorship or affiliate links, we aim to identify the commercial relationship clearly.

See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Currency

Travel information changes.

We therefore prefer linking readers to live official information for matters such as:

  • lift and piste status;
  • seasonal operating dates;
  • ski-pass prices;
  • train timetables;
  • restaurant opening hours;
  • event dates;
  • activity schedules.

This allows our guides to remain useful without pretending that rapidly changing information is permanent.

Sources we prefer

Where possible, factual information is checked against first-party or authoritative sources.

These can include:

  • Destination Davos Klosters;
  • Klosters Tourism;
  • Rhätische Bahn;
  • SBB;
  • Davos Klosters Mountains;
  • individual mountain operators;
  • individual hotels and restaurants;
  • recognised ski schools and activity providers;
  • Swiss and Graubünden tourism organisations;
  • public authorities;
  • museums, festivals and cultural organisations.

Secondary sources may also be used where appropriate, but we do not regard another travel blog repeating a claim as sufficient verification of a changing local fact.

Named businesses and activities

Before recommending or describing a named local operator, restaurant, attraction or service, we aim to confirm that it is currently operating and that the activity or facility described is genuinely offered.

We avoid inventing generic-sounding local businesses or presenting an activity as routinely available simply because it is common in other Alpine resorts.

Where availability is seasonal or uncertain, we say so.

Prices, opening hours and seasonal information

We deliberately avoid reproducing large amounts of information that changes frequently.

A ski pass, hotel rate, restaurant menu, train timetable or mountain operating schedule can become inaccurate very quickly.

Where current live information matters, we normally explain the important practical point and direct readers to the relevant official source.

Reviews and recommendations

Klosters.com does not automatically describe businesses as “the best” simply because they appear prominently on another website or have accumulated online reviews.

Where we recommend a property, area, restaurant or activity, we aim to explain why it may suit a particular visitor.

For example:

  • particularly convenient for Madrisa;
  • useful for families;
  • close to Klosters Platz station;
  • suitable for a car-free stay;
  • a good option for regional Swiss food.

This is more useful than pretending that one choice is objectively best for everyone.

Commercial and affiliate content

Some links on Klosters.com are commercial or affiliate links.

Receiving commission does not determine whether a destination, hotel, restaurant or activity is included editorially.

Sponsored or paid-for content, where accepted, will be identified as such.

For more information, see our Affiliate Disclosure.

AI and editorial tools

We may use digital and AI-assisted tools as part of research, analysis, drafting or editing.

They are tools rather than sources of authority.

Material intended for publication is reviewed and edited, and factual claims that require verification are checked against appropriate external sources rather than being published solely because an automated system generated them.

Images and copyright

We use images that we believe we have permission or a valid licence to publish.

These may include:

  • our own images;
  • properly licensed Creative Commons images;
  • images supplied with permission;
  • appropriately licensed commercial photography.

Where a licence requires attribution, we aim to provide the required credit and licence information.

If you are a rights holder and believe an image or credit on Klosters.com requires correction, please contact us.

Corrections

Accuracy matters more than defending an old version of an article.

If we discover a material factual error, we aim to correct it.

If you believe something is incorrect, please send us:

  • the URL;
  • the information you believe is wrong;
  • and, where possible, a reliable source supporting the correction.

Updates

Some pages require more frequent checking than others.

Restaurant, event, transport and seasonal activity information may need revisiting relatively frequently, while geographical and historical information changes much less often.

We periodically review existing material and may update, expand, merge or remove content where it no longer serves visitors well.

Our relationship with official tourism organisations

Klosters.com is an independent publication.

We may use and link to information published by official tourism organisations, transport companies and mountain operators, and we may communicate with them for factual information, media resources or other legitimate editorial purposes.

That does not make Klosters.com an official tourism website.
